Please Note We Do Not Have Any Emergency Accommodation If you are in housing crisis please ring for advice.
What is the Supported Housing Project? The Supported Housing Project offers temporary, furnished accommodation with support provided by our staff to help you become more independent. In addition to signing an occupancy agreement we expect residents to agree with support staff, an individual action plan with realistic goals aimed at increasing independence and participating in education, employment or training. We will help our residents to find their own tenancy usually after a stay of 9-12 months. Where is the Supported Accommodation? Our Supported Accommodation is in Morpeth, Pegswood and Ashington. This consists of a three bedroom shared house in Morpeth ,2- 2 bedroom houses in Ashington and four self contained bedsits in Pegswood. Who is the Supported Housing Project aimed at? Our Supported Accommodation is aimed at 16-25 year olds who would benefit from a period of support and who are willing to agree to an action plan aimed at getting into education, employment or training and gaining greater independence. If you think you do not need any support - the Supported Accommodation Project is probably not suitable for you. What are the costs and how do I pay? The Supported Accommodation costs are broken down into Support Costs which are funded by Northumberland Care Trust, or possibly Social Services if you are a Care Leaver; Housing Costs which you are responsible for, but you may be able to claim Housing Benefit for and Personal Service costs (for water, heating lighting and TV) which you will have to pay direct to us. How do I apply? We try to keep the accommodation fully occupied - this means that we try and move a new housemate in as soon as the previous housemate moves on. New residents are selected from a list of applicants who have completed an application form and have met our staff to talk through expectations. Phone Chris Menzies, Kerry Hope or Sandra Miller for an informal chat on 01670 514881 or complete an application form and return it to us. Information Pack
