Quality Recognised

We have been recognised

by Northumberland Care Trust as meeting the new Supporting People Standard. The standard is assessed across five criteria including Assessment and Support Planning, Security and Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Protection from Abuse, Fair Access, Diversity & Inclusion, Client Involvement and Empowerment. The standard was revised in 2009 and therefore Barnabas Safe & Sound needed to demonstrate compliance with the new standard. After an initial visit in September 2009 by Northumberland Care Trust Supporting People Team, an improvement plan was agreed with a target for completion at the end of April 2010. The improvement plan has been signed off as of Friday 23rd April 2010. Chris Menzies, Manager at Barnabas Safe & Sound stated, "We are pleased to have been recognised for this improvement over the past 6 months. The new standard ensures that our policy and practice is upto date and increases the focus on customer satisfaction."  Barnabas Safe & Sound have already started looking at how they can further improve practice and outcomes for young people using their Supported Housing Project.
