Barnabas Safe & Sound is a young peoples Housing and Support Charity based in the Northumberland market town of Morpeth.
We have been registered as a Charity since 2002.
Morpeth has a population of about 13,000 people of which about 1552 are young people aged 10-19. Morpeth has a large rural catchment and young people from the surrounding rural area use the local schools and other local facilities.
Morpeth and District is relatively well off but the some of the population is adversely affected by poor access:
- to affordable housing and
- limited local services.
This had a disproportionate effect on young people who do not have their own transport. Young people experiencing housing crisis have significant difficulties.
Barnabas Safe and Sound works in partnership with other agencies to provide high quality services and support for young people. This site has more information about our services and developments and there are application forms you can download. |
